Deacon Raymond Batalon, 95, passed on June 24, 2022 at the Veterans Hospital. He was the husband of the late Therese (Philibert) Batalon. He was born in North Providence, R.I. to Edmond and Germaine (Chicoine) Batalon. Raymond resided in Pawtucket for over 60 years. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany during WWII. He was a Deacon for over 30 years at St. Edward Church in Pawtucket and also a Chaplin at Pawtucket Memorial Hospital for over 20 years. He is survived by his five children, Suzanne Nicholson (Thomas), Paul (Sue), Mark, John (Michelle) Batalon and Michele Thomas; 11 grandchildren, 11 great- grandchildren and his sisters, Del and Terry. He was predeceased by four siblings and his grandsons, Ryan and Michael Batalon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 2, DIRECTLY at St. Mary Church, 103 Pine St., Pawtucket at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, 359 Daggett Avenue, Pawtucket. Calling hours will be Friday, July 1 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Keefe Funeral Home, Higginson Ave., Lincoln. Relatives and friends are invited. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to The R.I. Fire Chiefs Honor Flight Hub, P.O. Box 28132, Providence, RI 02908.
